Mumbai: IPL franchise Mumbai Indians would be celebrating the birthday of cricket legend and their `icon player’ Sachin Tendulkar who will turn 44 tomorrow. The right-handed batsman was born here on April 24, 1973. “Mumbai Indians would be celebrating Sachin’s birthday at the Wankhede stadium tomorrow where the team will be taking on Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL encounter,” an MI source told PTI. Tendulkar will be present for the game, he said. Mumbai Indians, who have been on a roll after winning six games on the trot, will look to give a perfect gift to Tendulkar by clinching another win. Meanwhile, the Legends Club here has also organised a programme to mark the little master’s birthday at the Cricket Club of India in south Mumbai. Former Baroda and Mumbai player Vasu Paranjpe, who was present when Tendulkar made a century on his Ranji Trophy debut for Mumbai, will speak on the occasion. Tendulkar’s biopic ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ is scheduled to hit the theaters on May 26. The movie is directed by James Erskine and the music has been composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman. The year 2016 saw release of two biopics on life of Mohammad Azharuddin and MS Dhoni; the former did not go down well with the audiences while the other earned all the accolades. Tendulkar holds the record for the leading run-scorer in Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODI). In 200 Tests, Tendulkar has scored 15,921 runs and has 18,426 runs from 463 ODIs. He is the only player to have scored 100 iternational centuries.
